Coal is an honest man who values hard work just as much as he enjoys throwing back a pint after a well-toiled ordeal. If you aren’t breaking a sweat, you’re not working hard enough. He can often be seen idly carving bits of wood scavenged from repairs down at the docks. If asked, he will go into great detail about his collection of miniature ships, most of them replicas of vessels he has worked on himself. Up before the sun, Coal starts his day helping captains who cannot afford to hire a proper repair crew before heading up into the hoity-toity of it all and helping Lady Dross with whatever strange request she may have. Having caught wind of the work she offered, Coal began coming around frequently. The difficulty of her requests kept him interested, and making sure his companions for the day did not die on the job gave him an odd sense of responsibility toward the gig.
